Lion’s Befrienders


At Hong Leong Holdings Limited (HLHL), employees participate in monthly food distribution programmes across Singapore, personally delivering food packs to needy families identified by the Lion’s Befrienders. HLHL has been a partner of the Lion’s Befrienders for more than 20 years

Our employees are also regular volunteers with the activities of Hong Leong Foundation including its annual charity event for elderly beneficiaries.

Hong Leong Foundation is the charity arm of Hong Leong Group Singapore. It was set up in 1980 as the main driver of the Group’s philanthropic initiatives. Its mission is to create opportunities by fostering education among the youth, helping the needy and elderly to lead healthy and fulfilling lives, and supporting the arts and cultural communities in Singapore.

Lee Kuan Yew Centennial Fund


To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Singapore’s founding father Lee Kuan Yew, HLHL together with the Hong Leong Group of Companies contributed to the Lee Kuan Yew Centennial Fund that supports the education and development of Singapore’s youth. The Fund was launched by Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Mr Lawrence Wong on 30 May 2023.

Some of its key initiatives include the Singapore Young Leaders Programme (SYLP),

which aims to empower about 1,000 student leaders from tertiary institutions such as Institute of Technical Education (ITE), polytechnics and autonomous universities with leadership opportunities for Singapore’s future. The Fund will also provide funding for the expansion of Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship Awards, Lee Kuan Yew Post-Graduate Scholarship for Urban Greenery and Ecology and additional support for ITE and polytechnic students.
